Shortly after Yuna brings the Eternal Calm, it becomes shattered, and begins to fall apart. Yuna realizes that the Eternal Calm is not all it’s cracked up to be. Just when something is fixed, something breaks. Just as Sin is destroyed, another problem occurs.

Recently, a group of people called the White Winged Darkness has risen to power, and poses a threat to the peace Yuna has brought Spira. The goal of the White Winged Darkness is to restore Sin. They belive that a world of no worries has severe consequences. A world with no danger causes people to be careless, and do things they shouldn’t. If they could resurrect Sin, people would be cautious, and think before they act. The White Winged Darkness believes they are doing this for the good of all people.

Yuna thought that defeating Sin would make everyone happy. That was all she wanted.

Yuna unites with her cousin Rikku, and a new friend Paine, and together they joined the Galactic Council, an organization formed to preserve the tranquility of the Eternal Calm. Not much later, other heroes join the Galactic Council as well. People who have a reputation for saving the world, or aiding in this cause. With the help of friends and people they trust, the Galactic Council plans on emerging triumphant.

Anyone is accepted into the Galactic Council, because they believe that no one should be turned down. They do get the occasional shadowy figure who lurks behind during the meetings. A new recuit named Kala recently joined. No one knows anything about her, nor does she say anything during the meetings. It seems like she just soaks in all the information.

Just like the Galactic Council, the White Winged Darkness is gathering members of its own. Criminal masterminds who know how to devise wicked plans in order to distract the Galactic Council, while the White Winged Darkness focuses on reviving Sin.

Meanwhile, the leader of the White Winged Darkness is killed by his own son. The son, Malperco, wanted the position of head honcho of the group, and therefore killed his father to obtain this wish. No one knows this happened except for Malperco, and he intends on keeping it that way.
